OUR APPROACH

Each learner is unique and we create Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) tailored to the individual learner.

Your child’s Clinical Program Manager will create a Behavior Support Plan (BSP) unique to him and the goals identified in the assessment process. Rather than being a “one size fits all,” the BSP will be created to employ the techniques most appropriate to the targeted behaviors, the goals, and your child’s skills.

Techniques may include any or all of the following, as appropriate:

  • Naturalistic techniques (Incidental Teaching, Natural Environment Training or NET),
  • Discrete Trial Learning (Discrete Trial Training or DTT)
  • Verbal Behavior, and
  • Pivotal Response Training (or PRT), among others.

ASSESSMENT

We identify your child’s strengths, skill deficits, and any challenging behaviors. Then, we tailor a treatment plan addressing those issues. While each case is unique, the assessment and funding authorization process typically takes about two to eight weeks from our receipt of your child’s referral to starting treatment. Click here to contact ABT to see if we’re a good fit and start the intake process.

THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS IS AS FOLLOWS:

1

REFERRAL AND INTAKE

You or your referring provider contact All Better Together for services. You will complete an intake packet that includes information about your child and your funding source (such as an insurance company).

2

AUTHORIZATION AND ASSESSMENT

We work with your funding source to verify your child’s eligibility for ABA services.  Then, we will request authorization to conduct a full assessment of your child.

Once approved by your insurer, one of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) will set up a time to come out and begin the assessment process.  This includes parent/caregiver interviews, client observations, skills testing, reviewing pertinent records, obtaining scheduling availability, and writing a report that defines specific goals to be targeted. This becomes your child’s “initial treatment plan.”

3

APPROVAL AND TREATMENT

We submit the initial treatment plan, including recommended treatment hours, to your funding source for review and approval.

When funding is approved, your child’s All Better Together team assembles, including a BCBA to supervise the program, one-on-one services from one or more of our Behavior Technicians (RBTs or BTs), and ongoing support and training for parents and other caregivers.

*The timeline from referral to the start of ongoing services can be highly variable depending on many factors, but the range is typically between 2 – 8 weeks.

TREATMENT

Treatment typically begins about two to eight weeks after we receive your child’s referral and following the assessment and approval process.

IN-HOME ABA SERVICES

All Better Together staff work directly with your child.

Your child will work 1:1 with one or more of our Behavior Technicians (RBTs or BTs).  Our team implements the program prescribed and directed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).  Sessions may take place in your home and in your community where your child lives, plays, and learns.

You are the most important member of your child’s team!  We provide ongoing parent training and education that will give you the tools and confidence to implement strategies with your child outside of sessions.

BCBAs provide ongoing support to clinical staff, with around two to four on site visits per month.

Your child’s ABA team will meet for regular Team Meetings to review progress. Participants include parents and other caregivers, BCBAs, and clinical staff.  In-home or elsewhere, Team Meetings allow your child’s entire team to review programs, receive updates, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a cohesive treatment plan that supports your child’s ongoing success.

CONSULTATION ONLY

All Better Together staff work directly with you.

One of our BCBAs provides direct consultation to parents, caregivers, teachers, and other service providers. We work with you to develop winning strategies and procedures to achieve your goals and objectives for your child’s behavior.

SCHOOL-BASED SERVICES

We are willing to contract with local schools to provide BCBA consultation to their staff, or bring our own BTs/RBTs into the classroom to work directly with your child.  Every situation is unique.  We’ll create a treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs and work to seek school and/or insurance approval as necessary.

VIRTUAL ABA SERVICES

All Better Together staff work directly with you via telehealth.

Life circumstances may make in person meetings impossible. Virtual ABA services through telehealth allow us to continue supporting you and your child. Using a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform, all BCBA services can be delivered via telehealth, including assessments, ongoing parent training, and program supervision.

We are also offering one-to-one telehealth ABA sessions for the time being with individualized delivery models tailored to the child.

Please note: Insurance coverage for telehealth services varies by plan and policy. We’ll work with you and your insurance company to get specifics.
